Not as peaceful as other members of their genus, the blue gourami should be kept with larger fish, as they tend to pugnacity and eventually bullies other smaller inhabitants. They are excellent swimmers that chase each other around the tank. Blue/Gold gouramis are bubble nest breeders. They are not easily sexed, although the male has a slight pointed dorsal fin. Very accepting of all kinds of foods, they are best kept on a diet of good quality flake, frozen or live food, as well as spirulina flakes to balance the diet.
