Phoenix our Welcomer

Meet Phoenix, our esteemed Welcomer, Chief Cuddler, and Supervisor on duty. Her primary post is stationed at the entrance, warmly greeting patrons throughout the day, though she occasionally seeks respite at the counter, nestled in her bed, particularly when fatigued or chilled. Phoenix, hailing from the distinguished lineage of our 4th Generation Dobermann Pinschers, has gracefully retired from motherhood following two litters, having undergone spaying. Eagerly anticipating the potential offspring of her daughter and niece later this year, she proudly represents our heritage, born in 2018, coinciding with the last permissible year for tail docking in New Zealand.
With an affable disposition, Phoenix gravitates towards human companionship, graciously accompanying customers as they peruse our aquatic offerings, basking in affectionate pats. Within the confines of our establishment, she shares her domain with a diverse aquatic community, including her playful adversary, the bristlenose in the counter tank, the ever-observed African sump fish, and the majestic Silver Shark within our Monster display tank. While she occasionally parades with a prized piece of paper or cardboard, her generosity in sharing remains elusive.
For those apprehensive about canine encounters, a simple call from the entrance ensures Phoenix's restraint at the counter. Though typically amiable, she exercises caution around toddlers and infants, often retreating behind the counter, acknowledging their limited mobility. At home, she assumes the role of a relaxed "lounge lizard," relishing in the comforts of her 16-year-old owner's king-size bed, steadfast in safeguarding their sanctuary against any potential intruders, with vigilant Dobermann companionship.
Should you wish to meet Phoenix's esteemed progeny or kin, a mere inquiry will prompt their introduction, provided they accompany us during our working hours.
